Spur

Princess once complained to me about her team mates. Not being motivated enough, unwilling to go the extra mile. I do get such team mates back in my poly days too. But right now, spearheading to success, I finally understand her agony.

Chee Yong once told me when we were still working after midnight, " I wish I can have of you and Robin in the team". Somewhere along that line. At that moment, I didn't say anything. I can't. If I were to, I will reply , " how much longer do you think they are willing to work on this project?"

Why?

It is not fair to say something like this. Not everybody works because they love what they do. To some, it may be just " a job ". A day to day rice bowl. Just for experience and money they are working for and that is all. You hear stuff like, " don't want" and " lazy to do " and " can be done, but a lot to do" when you ask for feedback. Nothing to do with results, but just work rate. Days can be stretched, things can be done. I don't really see the issue, honestly.

All I can say is that among this group of geniuses, our dreams do overlap with jutting edges. They are good at what they do, and as a fan, I will want to see more of it. "Team" shouldn't just be a collective noun, but a word we share.

Anyway, last night I've rescued Princess from the embarrassing clutches of pretending to be a tourist, "enjoying" overpriced gourmet. As a reward, she joined my parents for dinner! Unexpectedly, she suggested that we stay out a little later so we went for some casual super market shopping , ice cream , etc.

Then, at one moment last night, I kinda recalled how it was like when she slept over at my place. Fuzzy images. Those over-sized clothes she took from my wardrobe to put on. Talking in the kitchen. Starring at the same ceiling blabbering stuff which we will do when we grow up.

Damn.
