I believe that there is a price tag slapped on everybody's butt cheeks. The price is quoted by individual. And as a message , word or action is directed to you, that pretty much serves like an offer. Some people are worth more, yet some have to admit, and settle for less. Some people has nothing on their price tags. They are not priceless. They are worthless, are free.
6 years ago, she had to go for tuition on every Sunday morning. I used to take the train with her , followed by a probably 10 minutes stroll. Yet when her parents found out about this routine, they began sending her to school. Since then, I would take the train alone on Sunday mornings, just to take the elevator with her to her class. Idled for about 3 hours, talked to her for about 2-3 minutes before her parents picked her up again. And if her parents were on time, she would just leave without the 2-3 minutes difficult goodbye.
Today I took 2 buses to Thomson Plaza to take a 10 minutes bus ride home with her, along with a probably 5 minutes stroll home. Still, by public transport. Nothing has changed.
Don't embrace the consistency, don't praise the stability. Damn the lack of improvements for I have no license to drive, no car that shines. I am just a peasant, taking unreliable public transport. Purchasing a car , to my family, is a sacred topic. Nobody talks about it. We don't believe in dream talking.
I was late, I was sorry. I apologized. It was not easy to pick between doing nothing and doing something as both might incur her wrath. I chose to be a magician. I carried her law book, and pressed the bus bell for her. I didn't talk much, popped in sweets without much comments. It was as though I wasn't there and her books floated behind her and the bus stopped to her mental bidding.
I still feel disturbed upon thinking that soon, I will be in under the sea, serving the nation and not being able to do all these for her anymore. She doesn't have to cherish what isn't important to her. Just hope that when I am defusing bombs on seabed, she will have us running through her mind, playing like a silent movie.
